Over 60 grams of cocaine, $12,000 in cash and seven firearms were among items seized during two drug arrests Wednesday.

Saskatoon police arrested a 53-year-old man and a 49-year-old woman as part of an investigation into cocaine trafficking that began in February 2015.

The pair were arrested after police conducted a traffic stop on Bedford Road and searched a home on Carrothers Court in the city’s Dundonald neighbourhood.

The man driving the vehicle during the traffic stop was in possession of cocaine and cash, police said. Over 60 grams of cocaine, $12,260 in cash, seven firearms, an SUV, gold jewellery and several financial statements were seized following the search of the home.

The two accused, who are both from Saskatoon, are expected to appear in provincial court Thursday afternoon.

Further charges may be pending, police said.
