A second man is facing charges after three people were shot in Pelican Narrows earlier this month.

Scott Donald Roberts, 22, was arrested Thursday and charged with three counts of assault with a weapon, one count of discharging a firearm with intent, and one count of possession of a weapon dangerous to the public peace.

RCMP responded to a disturbance at a residence on Jan Street in the northern Saskatchewan community just before 4:30 a.m. June 14. A group of about 20 people were attempting to smash the home’s windows before two men exited the residence with a .22-calibre rifle and began firing shots, according to a .

Three people suffered gunshot wounds — a 15-year-old girl and 14-year-old boy from Flin Flon, Man., and a 19-year-old from Pelican Narrows — and were transported to Flin Flon General Hospital, where they have since been released.

Travis Alphonse Sewap, 29, was arrested shortly after the incident on assault with a weapon, discharging a firearm, and possession of a dangerous weapon charges.

RCMP initially stated only one man fired shots, but an investigation revealed Sewap and Roberts took turns shooting at the group.

Sewap appeared in Pelican Narrows provincial court June 16. His next appearance is scheduled for July 21.

Roberts is scheduled to appear in Prince Albert provincial court Wednesday.

Alcohol is considered to be a factor in the incident.

Pelican Narrows is located about 80 kilometres northwest of Flin Flon, Man. and 150 kilometres east of La Ronge, Sask.
