The Saskatoon Fire Department Water Rescue Team helped save an injured man from the river bank on Sunday afternoon.

Crews were called to the bank across from the Furdale Dog Park just after 1:15 p.m. after reports of an injured man. According to the fire department, there was a 30-year-old man on the edge of the river with an injured leg. Crews were able to reach him in a rescue boat and helped get him to EMS waiting downriver.

The man was taken to hospital and is expected to make a full recovery.
