It seems fitting that Tobias Rieder scored the lone Arizona Coyotes goal Tuesday night in front of hundreds of Rider fans.

Fans sporting Saskatchewan Roughriders gear descended on Glendale, Ariz. for the day as part of a collaborative event between the CFL team and the NHL’s Coyotes.

The event saw Rider fans pack the Gila River Arena to watch the Coyotes take on the Anaheim Ducks, and included a pre-game party at a local bar.

Fans were given the opportunity to meet the Riders’ Chris Getzlaf — whose brother Ryan plays for the Ducks — at the pre-game event, and many were invited onto the ice following the game for a photo.

The Ducks won the game 4-1 with a pair of goals from Andrew Cogliano and markers from Ryan Kesler and Jakob Silfverberg. Coyotes’ rookie Rieder scored his ninth of the season.
