Premier Brad Wall says an upcoming trade mission to India is an opportunity to tout Saskatchewan's expertise in food, fuel and fertilizer in an expanding market.
Wall plans to travel to the Asian country next month to meet with leaders and representatives of India's Atomic Energy Commission and the India Pulses and Grains Association.
His itinerary also includes a visit to an agricultural business fair where he is to address 400 farmers on the importance of potash.
In 2013, Saskatchewan led Canada in exports to India totalling almost $1 billion.
A recent report by the Saskatchewan-Asia Advisory Council recommended the province triple its exports to Asia by 2020.
Wall says he also wants to talk about Saskatchewan's carbon capture and storage technology, which the government says reduces greenhouse gas emissions produced by coal plants.
