A woman from Naicam, Sask. is dead after a crash Monday on Highway 6.

RCMP were called to the two-vehicle collision, which occurred about one kilometre south of Pleasantdale in east-central Saskatchewan, at about 1:15 p.m.

Mounties say early investigation indicates a southbound SUV collided with a northbound truck and trailer.

The driver of the SUV was pronounced dead at the scene, while occupants in both vehicles were treated at the scene by paramedics.

The cause of the crash is not yet known, according to police. Alcohol was not a factor.

Highway 6 was closed as crews responded.
