RCMP are now confirming that the deaths of two men in Meadow Lake are being investigated as a murder-suicide.

Reports of gunshots at a home near Sixth Avenue West and Fifth Street West were called into police around 10 a.m. Thursday. When they arrived, they found the bodies of two men. Both appeared to have gunshot wounds.

Schools in Meadow Lake were temporarily locked down at the request of RCMP.

The victims have now been identified as a 73-year-old man and a 70-year-old man, both from Meadow Lake. Investigators are not releasing names, but CTV has confirmed that one of the victims was Robert Bell.

An autopsy for the 70-year-old has been ordered for Monday in Saskatoon.

Investigators also say the two men were known to each other, and there is no evidence that anyone else is involved.
