COCHIN, Sask. - RCMP have arrested seven youths and two adults after a series of cabin break-ins and vehicle thefts in west-central Saskatchewan.

Police say the thefts occurred over the last several months in the area around Jackfish Lake, north of the Battlefords.

Officers recovered several guns, stolen vehicles and other property.

The suspects range in age from 12 to 20 and all are from the Moosomin First Nation near Cochin, Sask.

Investigators have laid 81 charges that include theft, unauthorized possession of firearms and failure to comply with court orders.

The nine accused have been released on several conditions and will make their first appearances in North Battleford provincial court over the next two months.
