The nine people from Poundmaker First Nation charged with fraud and theft were in court Tuesday morning in Cut Knife.

Poundmaker Chief Duane Antoine is one of the people charged with theft and fraud over $5000. The allegations stem from a seven year RCMP investigation, and involve the misspending of Treaty Land Entitlement money.

RCMP won't say how much money was misspent, just that the amount involved is "substantial."

All of the accused had their cases adjourned and will be back in court on September 6.
