The Saskatchewan Healthline has a new number. People looking for health advice can now simply dial 8-1-1.
The previous number, 1-877-800-0002, will still be operational for at least two years.
The Healthline is a free service offered 24/7 in English with translation available for over 100 other languages.
“Anyone with a health question or concern can call Healthline,” said Roberta Wiest, director of the Healthline, “We have an experienced and specialty-trained staff, who can help callers make decisions about their health care in a safe and confidential manner.”
When someone calls the line, a registered nurse answers and assess callers’ symptoms and gives offers them the best health support or information.
On average, Healthline answers 5,800 calls per month
