A 23-year-old Meadow Lake, Sask., man is facing child porn charges after a joint investigation between Saskatchewan police and investigators in Colorado.

RCMP and officers with the Saskatchewan Internet Child Exploitation Unit arrested the man Friday at a home in Meadow Lake.

Mounties say the investigation began in August 2015 and involved police from the ICE Unit, the RCMP and the Estes Park Police Department in Colorado.

The investigation centred on the online luring of two children under the age of 14, according to police. One child was from Canada and the other was from the United States.

Both children are safe, police said in a media release. Some of the alleged offences have been ongoing since August 2012, but were only recently reported.

The accused, who RCMP say they are not naming to protect the victims, has since been charged with 11 offences, including four counts of luring, two counts of possessing child pornography, two counts of making explicit material available to a child, one count each of making and distributing child porn, and sexual interference.

He has been remanded in custody and is set to appear in Meadow Lake court on Monday.
