After a five-day hiatus, Health Canada has given Saskatchewan officials the go-ahead to reopen flu clinics Thursday.

A precautionary hold was placed on the province's supply of the vaccine after clumping particles were found in a European batch from the same company.

But no problems have been found with the Canadian supply, so public clinics can begin again.

About 95 percent of Saskatchewan's supply is from Novartis, one of three companies approved for Canadian distribution.

The incident has prompted questions about the decision to go with one primary supplier.

Saskatchewan's chief medical health officer, Dr. Saqib Shahab, says Novartis has worked well in the past, but the process will be re-evaluated for next year.

In Regina, flu clinics are scheduled to resume Thursday. For a full schedule of where you can get your shot, visit the Regina Qu’Appelle Health Region's website.
