If you're looking for something to do with the family during the Family Day holiday there are lots of free, fun activites taking place in Saskatoon on Monday.

The Saskatoon Forestry Farm Park & Zoo is open regular hours as is the Mendel Art Gallery. There is free public skating event from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Cosmo Civic Centre and Clarence Downey Speed Skating Oval, along with public skating at ACT Area from 2:30 p.m. to 4 p.m.

There are also a variety of organizations taking part in Family in motion Day by hosting free events. Those include outdoor games at Kinsmen Park from noon to 4 p.m. and an outdoor skating party at the Cameco Meewasin Skating Park from noon to 4 p.m. Other events include opportunities to try out sports such as fencing, tennis, badminton and skiing. The  holiday means a number of City of Saskatoon services are closed or operating on modified schedules to begin the week.

City Hall is closed on Monday as are all branches of the Saskatoon Public Library. The landfill is open regular winter hours of 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and garbage and recycling collection is taking place as scheduled.

Saskatoon Transit is operating on regular Sunday/holiday service while Access Transit operates with regular holiday service from 8:15 a.m. to 11:45 p.m.

Parking meters don’t require payment on Monday but drivers still need to move cars within the time period shown on parking meters.

Several civic and leisure centres are open today with modified hours or programs and patrons are urged to contact the facilities directly for more information or visit the city website.
