The family of a Lloydminster man who died while snowmobiling six years ago is suing SaskPower.

Tracy Abbott’s family is seeking $2 million in lost income and other expenses from the Crown corporation in his 2011 death.

Abbott died from a neck and head injury while snowmobiling in a ditch near Meadow Lake. He hit a guy wire attached to a power pole.

His family claims the wire was at too low of an angle and not visible because it did not have reflective tape or plastic guards.

It has not yet been decided if the case will go to trial.
