A coroner’s inquest into the death of a 27-year-old Prince Albert man shot by police last July has been scheduled.

Officers responding to a domestic dispute call in the city’s East Hill area last year shot a man after he confronted them with a knife. Ryan Natomagan-Nelson was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

An inquest, now set to take place between Sept. 8 and 12, will examine the event but is not meant to find fault or blame. The goal is to determine how to prevent similar incidents.
