The City of Meadow Lake has been fined more than $6,000 under the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
The city plead guilty to two counts for failing to ensure workers are protected from cave-ins in a trench, and for not providing sufficient supervision at a work site.
The incident happened in 2010, when two workers were observed in a trench with the walls not in compliance with OHS requirements.
