A City of Saskatoon Committee has approved a plan to spruce up the extension of 25th Street to Idylwyld Drive. The plan calls for $3.7 million dollars for landscaping, lighting, benches, and art work.

The city plans to extend 25th Street to Idylwyld Drive to create a gateway into the downtown. Part of the plan is to make the roadway more attractive with trees, artwork, and lighting.

Over the next few years, there are plans to move city yards out of the area and convert the John Deere building in the proposed School of Architecture for the University of Saskatchewan. A new $91 million dollar police station is also planned.
