Alleged fraud victims say they are disappointed with a charge laid against the owner of a Kindersley travel agency.

The owner of T & T Travel is charged with one count of fraud over $5,000, after a 16-month RCMP investigation and more than 250 complaints.

People claim they paid for flights and hotels T & T Travel never booked.

In January 2016, a voicemail for the company said the business was no longer operating.

Terra Rader paid the full amount for her vacation by cheque several months before her trip departure date.

When she found out the agency had closed, she tried contacting the owner but she never heard back and was never reimbursed for her trip.

“I would never pay for the entire trip again… and I would use a credit card,” Rader said.

People who paid for their trip by credit card had their payments reversed, but because Rader paid by cheque, there was no way to retrieve the money.

Mitchell Klein said he paid half of his family’s trip in cash, about $14,000.

A week before their trip, they called T & T Travel to get their tickets, but there was no answer.

After calling the airline, they found out their flights and hotel reservations had never been made.

“We’d been saving up for a while… a few years for that vacation. Just to see it go down the drain, just like that, hurt us a bit,” Klein said.

According to RCMP, all of the claims are incorporated into one all-encompassing charge.
