The alleged leader of the Fallen Saints motorcycle club has been released on bail alongside five of 13 other men arrested in a massive police raid this week.

Mark Nowakowski, who Saskatoon police allege is the local president of the Fallen Saints, appeared in provincial court Friday to face an aggravated assault charge. The Fallen Saints are a “puppet club” for the Hells Angels, according to police.

A judge ruled Nowakowski be released on $10,000 bail with a number of conditions, including that he avoid the Hells Angels and Fallen Saints clubhouses and avoid contact with other known members of the motorcycle clubs.

His next court appearance is set for Feb. 25.

Nowakowski, 44, was one of 14 charged after RCMP and Saskatoon police raided nearly 20 properties across Saskatchewan and Alberta Wednesday.

About 200 guns, 3,358 counterfeit OxyContin pills, 5.4 kilograms of meth, 2.6 kilograms of cocaine, 107 grams of heroin, seven vehicles, and numerous other substances and items were seized by police during the searches — which included a raid of the Hells Angels clubhouse in Saskatoon.

The other five men released on bail include John Fekete, Carl Trobak, Bradley Mann, Christopher Lester and Layne Boorman. They were released on bails ranging from $2,500 to $5,000. All five were given the same conditions as Nowakowski and are scheduled back in court in late January.

Fekete, 30, Trobak, 27, and Mann, 36, are facing charges of drug trafficking and possessing property obtained by crime over $5,000. Lester is charged with two counts of conspiracy to traffic cannabis and Boorman is charged with aggravated assault.

Police allege 11 of the 14 arrested associate with the Fallen Saints while two — 31-year-old Terry Eide and 34-year-old Rob Allen — are Hells Angels members.

Allen appeared in Saskatoon provincial court Thursday faced with two counts of trafficking cocaine. He was remanded and will remain in police custody until his next appearance Jan. 20.

Eide is charged with trafficking cocaine and fentanyl as well as possessing property obtained by crime over $5,000.

The remaining accused — Justin Smith, Daryl Nagy, Ryan Hillman, Armand Hounjet, Travis Miles and Thai Duong Tran — were remanded in police custody until their next scheduled court appearance next week.
