Midtown Plaza sold as part of nationwide deal

A downtown Saskatoon shopping mall is among a number of malls across the country changing hands.

Midtown Plaza, along with the Cornwall Centre in Regina, part of the $2.8-billion deal that saw a total of 35 malls sold off. The shopping centres were owned by Primaris Retail Real Estate Investment and have been sold to two different companies, H&R Real Estate Investment Trust and a group led by Kingsett Capital.

There is no word on whether the takeover will affect the day-to-day operation of Midtown Plaza.
