Saskatoon police are investigating the city’s second homicide of the year, less than a week after the first homicide left a 45-year-old man dead.
Officers were called just after 4 a.m. Tuesday to St. Paul’s Hospital, where a 29-year-old man was suffering from a life-threatening injury.
Details on the incident are so far sparse, but police said in a media release the man has since died of the injury.
Officers with the major crimes and forensic identification units, alongside the provincial coroner’s office, are investigating.
The death is the city’s second homicide in the last week.
A 45-year-old man died in hospital after he was found injured Jan. 11 in a home on the 200 block of Avenue I South. A 27-year-old man is facing a second-degree murder charge in his death.
