Hundreds of tickets have already been handed out in a traffic enforcement blitz in Saskatoon.

On Wednesday, police issued 436 tickets for driving infractions including almost 300 for speeding. Other violations included using cellphones while driving and not using a seatbelt.

Seventeen people were ticketed for not having car seats properly installed. The traffic blitz continued Thursday, with police at a number of locations across the city.

Police say the idea of the blitz is to get people to follow the rules while driving with a goal of improving safety on Saskatoon streets.
