The aftermath of a winter storm created treacherous driving condition for Saskatoon commuters Thursday morning.
Emergency personnel spent the morning responding to a series of collisions that were reported throughout the city, including McOrmand Road and Attridge Drive, Boychuk Drive and Heritage Drive and 33rd Street West and Circle Drive.
Collision during the worst of the storm Wednesday saw several people taken to hospital as a result of separate accidents, including a three-vehicle collision just before 9:30 p.m. at the intersection of 25th Street East and First Avenue. One person had to be extricated from their vehicle and was taken to hospital with undetermined injuries.
Earlier Wednesday, two people were transported to hospital after a head-on collision on Highway 219, about two kilometres south of Saskatoon. Emergency crews had to remove one individual from a damaged vehicle.
Other incidents included a single-vehicle rollover at Marquis Drive and Idylwyld Drive and a collision at Circle Drive and the westbound Warman Road off ramp where a vehicle lost control and struck a light standard. No one was injured in either of those incidents.
