A driver faces charges of impaired driving and leaving the scene of an accident after a hit-and-run collision in downtown Saskatoon.
A 23-year-old female who was in the crosswalk at 22nd Street at Second Avenue was struck by a vehicle just after 10:30 p.m. Thursday, Saskatoon police said in a news release.
The vehicle continued travelling west on 22nd Street but witnesses at the scene reported the license plate number to police who were able to stop the vehicle in the 3400 block of Fairlight Drive and arrest a 30-year-old man.
The man will appear in court Friday charged with of impaired driving causing bodily harm, driving while over .08 causing bodily harm and failing to remain at the scene of collision.
The female pedestrian was taken to hospital by MD Ambulance and was reported in stable condition early Friday.
