The fate of two lovers accused of hatching a plan to kill their spouses is sealed. After three days of deliberations, a jury has found Curtis Vey and Angela Nicholson guilty of conspiring to murder their spouses.
The 12-person jury was sequestered Friday morning. On Sunday evening, after nearly 30 hours of deliberations, they found Vey and Nicholson each guilty of two counts of conspiracy to commit murder. The pair planned to kill Vey’s wife, Brigitte Vey, in a house fire and Nicholson’s husband, Jim Taylor, by drugging him.
The trial began two weeks ago. The jury heard from Vey’s wife Brigitte, who testified she recorded her husband with an iPod on July 1, 2013. The jury also heard from undercover officers who were in cells with Vey and Nicholson after their arrests.
Neither of the accused took the stand in the case.
The pair will be sentenced on September 2, 2016.
