The City of Saskatoon and Meewasin Valley Authority are studying options for a new boat launch on the South Saskatchewan River.
A survey of the city’s river access is being undertaken by the two groups, with the study primarily focused on exploring the need for an appropriate boat launch in or near Saskatoon.
The survey will explore the need for a launch for recreational and commercial users, as well as emergency crews.
“These users require safe, environmentally-sound access to the river with appropriate infrastructure,” the city said in a media release.
Residents are being asked to take part in an online survey to give their ideas on improving the current boat launching and mooring structures. The online survey will be open until Dec. 15.
A public open house on Monday, Dec. 5 will also be held at the MVA office downtown.
