With less than two weeks remaining in their annual Christmas Kettle Campaign, the Saskatoon Salvation Army is requesting help from the public to meet it's fundraising goal.

The organization is hoping to reach it's goal of raising $275,000 but as of the weekend it remained well short at about $149,000.

The money goes toward putting together between 3,000 and 3,500 Christmas hampers that will be delieverd to those less fortunate this holiday season. The hampers include a complete Christmas meal and some new toys for each child in the family.

The organization is also in need of approximately 75 volunteers to ring bells at 21 kettle locations throughout the city during the week leading up to Christmas.  Those who would like to pledge time to help can call the Saskatoon Community Centre at 242-6833.  Ext. 226.
