Police have charged a 27-year-old man in connection to the city’s first homicide of 2017 after he turned himself in.

Daniel Forest turned himself in to police Saturday, one day after officers asked the public for help in locating him as a person of interest.

He has since been charged with second-degree murder and breach of court conditions in connection with the homicide.

A 45-year-old man died in hospital after he was found injured in a home on the 200 block of Avenue I South on Jan. 11.

Forest was scheduled to make his first court appearance Monday morning in Saskatoon Provincial Court.
