Early morning fire causes $50,000 in damage
Saskatoon firefighters were called by a neighbour who spotted smoke coming from the garage of a home on Smoothstone Crescent.

No one was injured after a garage fire early Friday in an east-side Saskatoon neighbourhood.
Fire crews were called just after 6 a.m. after a neighbor noticed smoke coming from the attached garage of a home on the 200 block of Smoothstone Crescent.
Firefighters reported smoke and flames showing from the roof of the garage when they arrived at the scene. The fire was reported as under control approximately 20 minutes after the call was received.
The fire may have originated at an electrical outlet were a vehicle block heater was plugged.
The home’s residents were able to leave the house safely.
Damage is estimated at $50,000 and an investigator is underway to determine the cause of the fire.
