A 25-year-old woman escaped with minor injuries after a train and car collided on Saskatoon’s west side Thursday afternoon.
Emergency crews were called to a rail crossing at Fairlight Drive and 11th Street just before 5 p.m. A CP train heading westbound crashed into a northbound car.
The vehicle was pushed about 250 metres west of Fairlight Drive, according to a media release from the Saskatoon Fire Department. Crews secured the scene and found the 25-year-old already out of her vehicle upon their arrival.
She suffered only minor injuries but the car was damaged beyond repair, the release stated.
CP Rail will investigate the crash.
