One woman is dead and two people are in hospital after a highway crash early Thursday west of Saskatoon.

A 47-year-old woman from Asquith, Sask. died when her vehicle collided with a car on Highway 14 west of Grandora at approximately 12:25 a.m., RCMP said in a news release.

Two people in the car, a 26-year-old man from Edgerton, Alta. and a 22-year-old woman from Lashburn, Sask., were taken to hospital with undetermined injuries.

The name of the woman who died in the crash has not yet been released.

The highway was closed in both directions for several hours as RCMP conducted the investigation.
