The chief morale officer at Insightrix Research is a star employee, and now he’s being recognized for it.

Presley, an office dog at the Saskatoon research firm, was recently featured on Canadian Business magazine’s website as a top dog in the corporate world.

“He’s pretty attached to a lot of people here, and people are attached to him,” said Corrin Harper.

Presley was in pretty rough shape when Harper found him on the highway seven years ago, but he quickly became a big part of Insightrix.

“He always cheers me up if I feel like I’m getting down on myself,” said one employee.

“He just makes it more fun coming to work,” added another worker.

Canadian Business’s list featured five top dogs. Presley made the list alongside pups from music website SoundCloud, business website GreenBiz.com, and shopping app Spring.

He’s the company’s chief morale officer and head of security.

“His purpose is really to make people, I think, relaxed and make them feel at home,” said Harper.

According to the dean of the University of Saskatchewan’s veterinary school, pets can do more than boost morale.

“Things like high blood pressure, obesity, isolation of chronic disease all can be positively impacted simply by owning pets,” said Douglas Freeman.

Presley, of course, is no slacker. He makes sure meetings are kept on time.

“He can sense that we’re probably getting close to done,” said Harper. “He’ll start to get really excited and it’s like, ‘Thank God the meeting’s over,’ and it gets everybody sort of noticing that, ‘Ok, maybe it’s time to pack things up.’”
