A man acquitted in the death of his wife, has written a book about his time behind bars.

Mark Stobbe, the one-time advisor to former premier Roy Romanow, penned the book.

In it, Stobbe complains about the remand centre food, calling it terrible. He goes on to say that the cells were uncomfortable and there was no room to move around.

Stobbe's wife, Beverly Rowbotham, was found bludgeoned to death in her car 15 kilometres away from the couple's home in St. Andrews, Man.

He was charged with second-degree murder and found not guilty.
