Saskatoon’s Friendship Inn volunteers cooked 70 turkeys, 300 pounds of potatoes and 800 slices of bread for Monday’s Thanksgiving feast.
The meal fed approximately 1,300 people in need this year.
“It’s so rewarding," 18-year-old volunteer Nadia Jobs said. "You just get to know you’re helping someone and you know you’re feeding somebody, which is really the most important thing – being fed and nutrition."
The cooks have been preparing and freezing elements of the meal months in advance.
