Saskatoon transit workers have voted in favour of job action.

Employees represented by Amalgamated Transit Union Local 615 voted 97 per cent in favour of strike action during two meetings held Tuesday.

The union has been without a contract since December 2012.

The vote doesn't mean there will be an immediate transit strike. The union must give 48 hours notice before job action is taken.

The city says all transit services are running as usual Wednesday morning.
