The City of Saskatoon plans to file a police report after a piece of public art was knocked down Monday evening.

The Tyndall stone sculpture stands in front of the TD Bank on Second Avenue. One of the three pillars was knocked over, smashing into a second stone pillar, at some time in the evening. The city says it was likely hit by a vehicle.

The sculpture was designed by local artist Leslie Potter, and is called ‘Visionaries’. It has sat in the same spot for the last 22 years.

Crews cleaned up the broken sculpture Tuesday afternoon.

The city isn’t sure yet if the sculpture can be repaired.
