A Saskatoon RCMP constable has been charged with assault after an alleged off-duty altercation in Stanley Mission, Sask.

The officer was arrested Friday after Mounties were called to the Stanley Mission Health Clinic. An 18-year-old woman was transported to the clinic with injuries following a physical altercation outside a home in the northern Saskatchewan community, police said in a media release.

“Investigators learned that an off-duty RCMP member was involved in the altercation,” the release stated.

The officer was taken into custody at a Stanley Mission home, and on Tuesday, was charged with one count of assault.

She’s since been released with conditions and is set to appear in Stanley Mission provincial court May 10.

The constable has been suspended with pay and a code of conduct investigation has been launched, according to RCMP.
