A Saskatchewan RCMP officer is facing fraud charges.

Constable Harley Gillman, 42, is with the Rosthern detachment. He and his wife are both accused of using an RCMP fuel card to buy gas for personal use. A four month investigation on the couple has resulted in charges of fraud and theft over $5000.

Cst. Gillman is also charged with breach of trust by a public officer.

Cpl. Rob King of the RCMP says Gillman has been relieved of his duty. ”He has been relieved of his duty. He no longer has his RCMP id or gun, and won't be performing any type of police duties. There's an internal review going on right now to determine the suspension from duty. And right now he and his spouse have to face the court process."

The two accused are scheduled to make their first court appearance in Rosthern in September.
