A Saskatchewan man has been given a suspended sentence after admitting to hacking into a New York-based website.

Ryan Devin Lee of Denare Beach is also facing probation and community service after pleading guilty in a Creighton courtroom this week to charges that included committing mischief in relation to data.

Lee was arrested in June 2010 after several computers were seized by the RCMP from a Denare Beach home, based in part on information from the Canadian Consulate.

Court heard police were acting on allegations that a commercial website was under attack from a computer in the home.
