The Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) faces a $75,000 fine after a worker was seriously injured in Kelvington last May.

The SHA pleaded guilty to the occupational health and safety violation in Rose Valley Provincial Court on Dec. 11. The province says the SHA failed to properly ensure the safe functioning of its equipment — in this case, the ladder.

In a news release on Thursday, the province said the charge stemmed from an incident on May 11, when a worker fell from a step ladder and was seriously injured.
