A Saskatoon police officer has been suspended for 30 days and demoted for a year after having sex with a civilian while on duty.

In April, Cst. Collin Reddekopp met a woman while he was on a case. They began seeing each other, but when they broke up in September, she filed a complaint with the Saskatchewan Public Complaints Commission.

She claimed they had sex while he was on duty.

The Saskatoon Police Service launched an investigation, and the constable admitted to the affair.

Reddekopp is now suspended for 30 days without pay, and has been demoted from first-class constable to second-class constable.
