An investigation at the Saskatchewan Aboriginal Summer Games has led to a drug bust and three arrests.

The Turtleford RCMP detachment, assisted by the North Battleford unit, executed a search warrant at a residence on the Thunderchild First Nation Wednesday afternoon. The search was a result of a joint investigation initiated to address drug trafficking in conjunction with the First Nation hosting the Saskatchewan Aboriginal Summer Games.

Turtleford RCMP seized packages of marijuana, cash, and three marijuana plants from a residence on the Thunderchild First Nation.

After an investigation, charges are laid against three people – Robert Colin Brown, 29, Sandra Gail Wapass, 29, and Kristian Annie Wapass, 20. They all reside on the Thunderchild First Nation and have been charged with possession of marijuana for the purposes of trafficking and possession of proceeds of crime.

The accused have been released from custody and will appear in St. Walburg provincial court in October.
