The final checkout is coming for a long-time Saskatoon grocery story.
The Safeway at Cumberland Square Mall on Eighth Street will close its doors for good on April 5.
Officials with Sobey's, which purchased Canada Safeway last June, say the lease on the location is up and it will not be renewed.
The store is directly across the street from the Sobey's store located at Eighth Street and Cumberland Avenue.
The company says employees will be offered jobs at other Safeway locations in Saskatoon.
