The City of Saskatoon has announced that Monday, September 3, is the last time the rides at Kinsmen Park will run. They are being decommissioned.

The merry-go-round and train rides have been running for decades, but the city says they have reached their life expectancy.

Construction will begin in the fall on the first phase of the Kinsmen Park and Area Master Plan. The plan aims to revamp areas of the park. New options, incuding a new train ride, will be available to the public in 2014.

The city will be offering free admission to the rides on September 3, so fans can enjoy them one last time.
