The Prince Albert Police Service (PAPS) is releasing a photo of a person of interest in connection with a family/grandparent emergency scam following multiple reports.
Police are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying this person as they investigate the scam reports. Anyone with information is asked to call PAPS.
Police say victims of these scams are often elderly or vulnerable individuals who receive phone calls from scammers posing as family members or friends in an emergency. The scammers then requesting money for various purposes.

According to police, the fraudsters will often work in tandem and connect the victim to another person claiming to be a police officer, lawyer, doctor, or representative of another profession.
Police say legitimate authorities would never make these requests.
