A Prince Albert man found guilty of possessing and distributing child pornography was sentenced to four-and-a-half years in prison Friday.

Roger D. Williams was arrested in March of 2012 after a search of his home found 400 to 500 DVDs and more than 57,000 child pornography files.

One RCMP officer that testified called it the worst case he’d ever seen. The judge said the massive amount of files, and their graphic nature, factored into his decision.

The defence called the sentence reasonable. The crown wanted a seven-year sentence.

Williams will begin serving his sentence immediately.
