The Saskatoon Police Service is looking for a man who tried to rob another man at gunpoint Wednesday night.

Police say it happened around 10:15 p.m. in an alleyway on the 1100 block of Avenue W North. A 20 year-old Saskatoon man reported to officers that another man had approached him and asked for cigarettes. The victim took out a package of cigarettes, but the suspect then took out a sawed-off shotgun according to a police news release.

Police say the package was turned over and the suspect fled on foot. No one was injured in the incident. The suspect is described as an indigenous man, 20-25 years old, he’s around six-feet tall with a medium build and short ‘buzz cut’ style hair. He was last seen wearing grey sweat pants and a black sweater with gold letters “DGK” across the front.
