A 26-year-old man recently released after serving two years in prison is facing more child pornography charges, according to Saskatoon police.
Justin Gerard Gryba previously pleaded guilty to child pornography-related offences in 2012. He was released earlier this year following a two-year sentence.
Police, upon Gryba’s 2012 arrest, seized several computer devices that were locked, encrypted and password protected. Gryba refused to provide the device’s passwords.
Investigators in Saskatoon and Ottawa, after two-and-a-half years of attempts, were only recently successful in breaching the devices — leading to new charges against Gryba.
He is charged with two counts of making child pornography, one count of possessing child pornography and two counts of voyeurism.
He made his first court appearance in Saskatoon provincial court Thursday morning.
The victims in the investigation have been identified and the families have been notified, police said.
