Friday night wasn’t too cold for a good old fashion Canadian police chase.

Saskatoon police noticed a snowmobiler driving in the city’s Sutherland area, near 109th Street and Egbert Avenue around 11:30 p.m. City bylaw prohibits driving snowmobiles on city streets.

Police flashed their lights, signalling the driver to stop, but the driver fled.

The driver blew through stop signs and turned down an alley to evade police. He was caught attempting to park the snowmobile in his own garage.

Police said speeds during the chase didn’t exceed 60 km/hour.

The 20-year-old male driver of the snowmobile now faces charges of failing to stop for police and failing to stop at a stop sign, as well as a Saskatoon bylaw charge for operating a snowmobile on a city street.

The driver was also the subject of a common assault warrant, which was executed at the time of his arrest.
