A high-profile member of Saskatoon’s gay community and owner of a downtown nightclub is facing two separate sexual assault charges.

Skipp Edward Anderson, owner of Pink Lounge and Nightclub, is facing one charge in Saskatoon’s provincial court and another in the city’s Court of Queen’s Bench.

The charge heading through provincial court stems from an alleged July incident, while the Queen’s Bench charge is related to an alleged May 2014 offence.

Both complainants are men, according to court documents. Their names are under a publication ban.

Anderson, who is a board member with OUTSaskatoon, appeared Tuesday in provincial court in connection to the July charge.

He elected to be tried by judge and jury, and a preliminary hearing is set for March 6, 2017.

He’s expected to appear in Queen’s Bench court in relation to the other charge in late April 2017.
